Crisis Communication

Course Objective

The aim of the online certificate course in Crisis Communication is to raise participants’ awareness of crisis communication through theoretical knowledge and international best practices, and to help them develop the necessary skills to manage crisis situations effectively, promptly, and successfully.

Course Introduction

Within the course, participants will explore the three phases of crisis communication (pre-crisis, crisis response, and post-crisis) and the key considerations that must be taken into account at each stage to conduct effective crisis communication. The course will emphasize the growing importance of communication and coordination during crises, the principles of crisis communication, the development of relevant strategies and action plans before a crisis, the conduct of strategic, operational, and tactical communication during a crisis, delivering messages tailored to target audiences, establishing and improving channels for messaging and monitoring, the crucial role of media relations during crises, and the significance of post-crisis evaluation, analysis, and recommendations to better prepare for future crises. In addition, a dedicated module will focus on the analysis of a nuclear disaster case study as an example of successful crisis communication.

The Crisis Communication course consists of 8 modules, each delivered by professional trainers.

Course Outcomes

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will gain detailed theoretical knowledge of activities to be undertaken before a crisis, the aspects to consider during a crisis, and the measures to plan after a crisis. Furthermore, they will acquire skills that will enable them to overcome crises.

Participation in the course is free of charge, while the cost of obtaining the corresponding certificate upon successful completion is 50 GEL.
